Introduction to Willow Run
Nationality:American Curator:Huang Yihuang/Chen Tianyi
How can our imagination reflect the quality of “real life”? How does the light move? Can the eyes see beyond what they can? Do we feel the flow of life? Willow Run is such a painstaking work that provides continuous reflection on human existence and human life.
Ernestine Ruben always passionately integrates the concept of photography into various art forms, and has conducted extensive experiments and diverse creative attempts. Starting from silver body images, she then integrates photography with dance performance, sculpture, glass imaging, architecture, fashion, paper and fabric printing. At the same time, she often combines traditional imaging with emerging digital technologies, and has been obsessive with exploring new creative themes and innovative directions. In recent years, she has been studying the relationship between architectural structure, space, sound (including music) and visual image, as well as its reference to human life and its interaction with the complexity of our environment.
Through the 18 works she shows here and the short films and music she worked with famous filmmakers and music producers, we are likely to touch and realize our physical, spiritual, natural, spatial and material sensibility, and the mutual penetration and interaction of intersections between the unknown dimensions in the environment we live and the known dimensions of human life and human living.
